Welcome to The Iron Yard, Durham's premier full-time code school. We are training developers to fuel the Triangle's technology economy in North Carolina.
We are excited to bring code education to the Triangle where learning and real world experience happen simultaneously.
To connect students directly with potential employers, Academy classes are held in the American Underground, in close proximity to some of the Triangle’s most promising tech start-ups.

Our immersive courses are 12 weeks long and run three times per year. We offer several different subjects at our Raleigh-Durham campus. Our grads get jobs with amazing local companies as well as awesome shops around the country.
Back End Engineering focuses on the logic and database needs required to run and scale web applications. Back End products combine databases, APIs, and user interface frameworks. Data Science focuses on using programming to find, extract, clean, analyze, and present data. Data developers work with researchers, statisticians, and developers from other disciplines to draw intelligence from data.
